BARNSTABLE HIGH SCHOOL: 16
Nauset AAA girls softball team had their first game of the season on Wednesday. It was the first game ever for many on the team. Morgan Brown pitched a fine game for her first game. She struck out 4 and had 5 putouts.The score was 16-2 in favor of Barnstable. Even in defeat there were many good points in the game. Kelly Rotherberger had a great game behind the plate, she also had two hits.Becca Miller, Sabrina Santos, Taylor Hughes, and Maddy Thomas had outstanding effort.
Shanice Kelly scored one run and and had two stolen bases.Whitney Enobakhare and Sam Tavano were on base twice. Leah Colley had the hardest hit on the field.
The girls know with hard work and dedication they will be better softball players.We have a long journey but we are confident we will enjoy every step.
