Down 4-2 entering the third period, the Crusading Warriors picked up the tempo and dominated a strong Barnstable squad that previously defeated them handily 5-1. Freshman blueliner Elsa Lalone brought the visitors within one on a wrister from the low point . With just around a minute left , Freshman Lauren Monger let go a hard wrist shot of her own while the team had pulled their goalie.
Not wanting to settle for a tie , the team applied relentless pressure and poured a couple more shots on goal and after a scramble in the crease Brinna Cowing tapped in what appeared to be the game winner but the referee;s blew the play dead.
Both emily Silvestri and Jessica Grindell playedd strong in net and Samantha Barnard had a career game making several nice passes and was key on killing a Barnstable Power Play
